


DAV 86 FL Vietnam Veterans Day Picnic
In case you missed it, here are some pictures from the DAV 86 FL Vietnam Veterans Day Picnic honoring, not only the veterans, but also, those who supported them while they were serving "IN COUNTRY".

Senior Vice Commander, Larry Rekart, presents Service Officer and US Navy Vietnam Veteran, Mike Dellerson, with a 50th Anniversary Vietnam Commemorative Pin at the DAV 86 FL annual Vietnam Veterans Day celebration.

US Navy SeaBee, Vietnam Veteran, and DAV volunteer driver,Tony Thibault, thanked the DAV for honoring him, and his wife, at this, "They Also Served" event. The very patriotically dressed gentleman is the DAV Commander, Bill "I think I saved your life" May.

Event organizer and Senior Vice Commander Larry Rekart announced the inclusion of a special "They Also Serve Who Only Stay and Wait" commemorative section in the Chapter's brick garden.

USMC Vietnam Veteran, Stephen Bolding, remembered all of the special letters his wife, Sherry, sent him during his nearly two years in Vietnam.

Vietnam refugees, Man and Quinn Bui, presented some interesting insight into their home country and their struggles to immigrate as well as their successes in their new home country.

US Army Vietnam Veteran, Charlie Hanger, expressed his wife's commitment to him while he served as a combat medic in Vietnam. Behind Charlie is our Commander, Bill May. Bill was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He also commented on his wife, Edie's, support while he was deployed.
